Chad and Jami Bader
The Bader family serves in impoverished rural communities throughout Guatemala. Their ministry is called ‘Transformando Vidas’ (Transforming Lives). As Christ’s ambassadors, their task is to provide leadership, guidance, and resources in order to see "forgotten communities" redeemed spiritually, socially, and economically for the glory of God.
In 2018 they began serving in an isolated village named San Jose Guachipilin. San Jose is a community of approximately 75 families (450 people) located about an hour’s drive from Antigua, at the very end of several miles worth of sugar cane plantation. The town had no electricity, no clean running water, teachers arriving sporadically, and limited work opportunities. In other words, most people would call this place a hopeless situation. But where others saw darkness, they saw light. In the matter of four years, there have been dramatic changes in every area of the community (spiritually, physically, and economically). While continuing their work in San Jose, the Bader's have expanded Transformando Vidas and are now working in 2 other areas with immense need. The ministry's focus continues to be on church planting (including evangelism, discipleship, and seminary training), education, nutrition, community development, and creating economic opportunity.
