Ben and Christi Byerly
Ben encourages, trains, and resources Christian leaders in France and across Africa. He loves offering deep, spiritual listening to pastors, scholars, and cross-cultural leaders, who transform their communities with the light and love of Christ. Ben also provides academic training and support both online and through modular trainings and workshops (Eph. 4:11–13). Ben grew up as a missionary kid in the Congo (DRC), Liberia, and Côte D’Ivoire. He holds a PhD in Biblical studies from AIU (NEGST) in Nairobi, an MDiv from Westminster (WTS), and an MAR from Trinity (TEDS). He is a trained spiritual director and an Associate Certified Coach with the ICF.
Ben and his wife Christi met at Wheaton College, and have been married since 1993. Christi specializes in coaching for practical and spiritual alignment through her company Awaken Coaching. She is a Professional Certified Coach with the ICF, a certified facilitator of Brené Brown’s Daring WayTM curriculum, a coach trainer, and spiritual director.
Ben, Christi, and their three children–Kiara, Leila, and Matias–live in Alsace, France, near the German and Swiss borders. Previously, they lived in Kenya for 11 years.
