Sheldon and Kym Arensen

Shel and Kym Arensen are involved in friendship evangelism, church planting, and educational support based in Naivasha, Kenya.

Kym uses her skills as an educator to help missionary, African, and ex-pat kids reach their educational potential through testing and cognitive therapy. She also works on environmental issues, recycling plastic garbage into buildings, and demonstrating permaculture farming methods. In addition, she has created a biblically-based creation care curriculum for use with Kenyan school children.

Shel and Kym have been reaching out to the Okiek/Dorobo people, traditional hunter-gatherers from Kenya’s highland forests, for 30 years.  They have planted over 30 churches among this previously unreached people group and trained over 30 pastors to lead these churches. Shel continues to disciple these church leaders with village visits and meet them for tea and prayer in Naivasha. Shel encourages them to focus on areas that have not yet been reached with the Gospel, often joining them on outreach trips and showing the Jesus film.
