Bob & Virginia Travis

Bob and Virginia Travis’ ministry is with college and international students, immigrants, and expatriates. Much of their work revolves around a cross-cultural evangelistic Bible study using various languages. Also, friendship evangelism continues to play a vital role in seeing individuals come to Christ.

They live in Yavapai County, located in northwest Arizona, near four major cities: Dewey-Humboldt, Prescott Valley, Prescott, and Chino Valley. These are known locally as the “Quad Cities”, with a population of over 235,000 people. Within Yavapai County, there are 28,000 foreign-born residents made up of Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Turks, French, Iranian, and Hispanic. There are three distinct Yavapai Native American nations in the county.

Bob and Virginia went to Japan in 1986, spending 22 years there as church-planting missionaries. They returned to the U.S. in 2008 and continued their ministry in cross-cultural evangelism and discipleship, having a desire to reach those who have not yet had the opportunity to hear the Gospel clearly because of language and cultural barriers.
