Vinicio and Karry Lopez
Vinicio Lopez was born in Guatemala and moved to the US when he was 19 years old. He loves to work with his hands and serve others with his gifts.
Karry Lopez was born in IL and moved to GA to complete a Master's degree in Social Work. She spent most of her career in a hospice working with people facing the end of life issues.
God used a mission trip opportunity to Guatemala to make Himself known to her as a personal God. He stirred her heart for Him and the people of Guatemala. A few years later, she went to the mission field in Guatemala. A few months after returning to the US, she and Vinicio met in Atlanta at a Quiktrip. They married and had two daughters, Emma and Selah.
Several years later, after being asked by their pastor to help develop a mission partnership with the church and a ministry in Guatemala, God showed them that His plan was for them to serve Him full-time in Guatemala. So, in 2016, Vinicio and Karry said yes to the call and sold everything to move to Guatemala and begin serving Him.
Vinicio's trade skills and spiritual gift of service have provided an opportunity to meet a practical need for families living in poverty all over Guatemala. With the help of short-term teams and partnerships with other missionaries, we have had the opportunity to provide homes for those affected by the devastating volcanic eruption in 2018 and others whose homes are inadequate for providing a safe and healthy living environment. In addition, natural disasters and the COVID pandemic have made crisis relief by providing food bags and clothing for people a necessity. We attempt to respond to whatever needs are before us, whether by providing for the need or referring to other ministries to meet the needs. In addition, we assist with translation for a large medical clinic provided by American doctors and nurses in a nearby community as a family. Serving the missionary community through education and support for missionary kids is also something we feel passionately about. The main goal of all that we do is to make Jesus known and known in a way that yields life transformation and eternal salvation through Him.
