George and Allison Karkanis
Since 2012, George and Allison have been fighting the battle against human trafficking, all in the name of Christ. Throughout their time in reaching those caught in the sex trade and then coming alongside the survivors, they realized God was calling them to dedicate their entire time to mission work, and in 2018 joined CTEN as full-time missionaries. In 2023, George and Allison founded Hagar Ministries, which exists to reach individuals in exploitation and to empower them through restoration and employment in order for them to live a healthy, liberated life. They want to use Hagar’s story from slavery to her encounter with Christ as a testimony to those trapped in our modern slavery that they are seen by the One who sees all. (hagar.gr)
George is a forensic psychologist who uses his skills to give a better understanding and insight into those who are coercing or part of forcing those into areas of trafficking. We will never be able to fully comprehend the wounds inflicted on the victims unless we understand who are the ones inflicting those wounds. Apart from training the staff of Hagar Ministries, he is also reaching out to individuals with a criminal background providing Christ-based support.
