Lisa Postma

Lisa has been serving in Jaco, Costa Rica since 2011. She recognized there were limited safe places for teens to build healthy relationships and gain life skills in a Christian environment. In February of 2015 Lisa started Casafé (Faith House). Casafé is an outreach and discipleship program that works with youth aged 12-20 from the community of Jacó with the mission to empower the youth to grow in their spiritual walk, develop life skills and learn to live in healthy Christian community.

Jaco is known for it’s Party Scene with legal prostitution in your face, drugs being sold on every corner, and endless drunken parties wherever you look. People come to Jacó from all over the country and the Americas to indulge in these activities trying to fill their emptiness or simply “have a good time”. This toxic environment makes it really hard for the local youth to not fall into the trap of the destructive lifestyles around them.

Casafé provides English classes, Bible studies, prayer times, and other activities as well as free time for youth of the community to have a safe place to spend time and grow. These activities open the door to build meaningful relationship with the youth and therefore disciple them in the truth and get them connected with the local Church – the greater Christian community.
