Amanda Griffin
Amanda Griffin is serving in Kanagawa, Japan! She helps lead worship at two churches, assists with events and Bible studies at a Christian community center, and teaches English classes to all ages at both churches. She invests time in the community around her to be a light for Christ to share with those who don’t know Jesus, as well as to encourage the few believers she encounters.
She enjoys building relationships in one-on-one settings. Perhaps it is with a language conversation partner, or chatting with a cafe or shop owner. Her goal is that the Japanese person feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, which may lead to an opening for sharing the Gospel of Christ and biblical teachings. Many of the Japanese are often excited to hear why she lives in Japan, even if they have not known about Christ previously.
In this new area of ministry, Amanda is much more immersed in the Japanese language, as worship music, sermons, and most Bible studies are in Japanese, as well as conversation with her team. She looks forward to building relationships with those who attend her English classes, including University students, church members, children, and the mothers of students who come. Amanda is excited to join God in His work in Japan, and to see how God uses her in the lives of people in this area.
