Scott Spooner
Scott Spooner is an art teacher at Rift Valley Academy in Kijabe, Kenya. Kijabe is a small town in the highlands of Kenya on the edge of the Great Rift Valley. Rift Valley Academy is a boarding school for missionary kids. Although teaching art is his main focus, working at RVA is an opportunity to care for and mentor TCKs (Third Culture Kids) whose families are serving all across Africa doing ministry. As a TCK himself, Scott feels very passionate about working with kids who have had similar experiences.
Scott moved to Africa in 1996 as a three-year-old. Art was an immediate passion and escape for him. He graduated from RVA in 2011 and graduated with an Art Degree in 2015. After living in Alaska for 7 years and working as a freelance artist, he heard about the opportunity to teach at RVA and went to fill in. He currently feels that God is calling him to ministry to TCKs at RVA through art, conversations, and fun.
