Morgan and Laura Gobely
Situational Context
Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, is in the midst of an escalating crisis. As of 2019, UNICEF estimates at least 30,000 minors are classified as “street children” without the basic means of survival – food, shelter, etc.
As this number continues to rise exponentially each year, Nsansa Village is proactively seeking to rescue street children and restore hope. Existing services include:
Housing and caring for the basic needs of 35 onsite young men (all prior street children)
Discipling children and teaching the basic principles of Christianity
Interacting with street children through a weekly feeding program (serving roughly 300 street children)
Providing counseling services to restore dignity, love, and hope among victims
Giving guidance on educational opportunities and skills training to help break the generational cycle of poverty and broken homes
Our Mission
In partnership with Nsansa Village, Morgan and Laura will come alongside the leadership and staff to help them: 1) Develop a long-term, self-sustainable organizational strategy, 2) Support their expansion efforts to construct a new facility and house additional children, 3) Implement consistency and stability within existing services and offerings, and so much more as the Lord leads!
Morgan, Laura, Owen, and Elise look forward to integrating into the existing Nsansa Village family and serving each street child/youth with hearts full of discipleship, love, and compassion.
