Elaine Hurtado

Elaine is serving with Project Love One by developing funding and global health programming for the vulnerable people of eSwatini Africa. Project Love One’s mission is to empower widows, orphans, and vulnerable children in Jesus’ name through community transformation in the areas of water, nutrition, health, and education.
While she currently resides in Houston, TX, a piece of her heart is in the beautiful country of eSwatini. In 2019 while working on a practicum for her Master in Public Health in Nutrition in rural eSwatini among orphans living in child-headed homes, Elaine had the opportunity to develop and collect data for a nutritional needs assessment.

Deeply burdened by the severe water crisis, malnutrition, and overwhelming needs of the vulnerable children, Elaine surrendered her life to full-time ministry to bring sustainable solutions in these areas while sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ. Through Project Love One, Elaine has begun to work on a community garden project with local leaders in a rural village. She is developing programming that will address nutrition, sanitation, and hygiene through a community health model. Elaine desires to use these programming models to minister to other communities in developing nations while sharing God’s love and the Gospel message.
